DADDY, ONLY GIRLS AND AUNTIES WASH CLOTHES - that was what my little boy said when I tried to do some washing today.

Of course, another life lesson and how perspectives are formed.
Up until now, I haven't done much washing in the glaring view of my little boy. So today, he caught me and asked: Daddy, what are you trying to do.

I said, I want to wash some clothes.

Then he replied: Daddy, only girls and aunties wash clothes.
I was surprised.

This boy has innocently 'genderlized' cloth washing. He has only seen his Mum, Sister, and Aunties do this house chores and having seen it consistently, it registered in his mind that WASHING IS FOR THE FEMALE FOLKS.
This may not be unique to this little boy and not even restricted to cloth washing; how many things have we 'genderlized'? How many trade, profession, behaviour, expression, status etc have we concluded belongs to a specific group, people, culture, or race?
Again, if a child hasn't seen a thing before, it is near impossible for the brain to accommodate or believe its existence.

We owe it to our little ones (more for boys) to teach them by showing them how things should be - washing, cooking, cleaning, reading, helping, giving, etc.
If a child hasn't heard from daddy to mummy, "I love you", he would probably assume only Ladies/Women should say I love you.

If there is anything we must show in the open, it is demonstrating openly to children how things should be. They learn more when they see things done.
Dad, tell your wife "I love you, and mean it", especially when your kids are there. Let them hear you say so.

Let them hear/see you Read, Pray, Teach, Learn, Work, Cook, Clean, and if indeed possible Cry!
...as I was washing, we had a conversation and I said, "It is not only Girls and Aunties that wash clothes, Boys, Guys, Daddies, and Uncles too do wash.

And it is a duty to make sure I demonstrate all of the above and make them 'genderless'.

Males too cook, wash, and cry!!!

Nigeria is the way it is because more money have been stolen than have been put into development.
Some stole equivalent of a whole university and are walking around holding back the dreams of several thousands Engineers, Doctors, Accountants, Teachers, Nurses, Farmers....

...unfortunately, they are still for how to steal more.
Some pocketed the entire full length of Third Mainland Bridge - equivalent.

They are one reason we spend 3hrs for a 30mins journey which leads to unproductivity and poor economic indicators.

There's some minor Disk Horse about Hux and Phasma (in relation to Kylo) so let me add in my two cents (as someone who also likes their characters, tho obviously not as much as Kylo), a thread
In some ways Hux and Phasma are foils to Kylo, but in many other ways they are very different--in both character and role

First, let's look at Phasma who is so much more obviously different
Phasma was a fierce warrior from the very beginning. She grew up on a harsh, dying planet. Every day, the goal was just survival.

Phasma's sheer survival instinct and desire for self-preservation is what fuels her above everything else. Her novel establishes this.

I keep thinking back to a discussion a few months on reddit about THE BELGARIAD. Several comments were made about it being cliche and pedestrian, and someone said, “Yeah, it’s a fine story, but it’s never going to be a classic.”
And all I could think to respond was, “It’s over thirty years later and we’re still talking about it. How is that NOT ‘a classic’?
But that got me thinking- I cite THE BELGARIAD (and THE MALLOREON, its sequel series) as one of my influential works. But what is that influence? I know I’ve read the whole series several times. My copies of the books are in terrible shape.

AU wherein, despite the prejudice people have against hybrids, Jeongguk’s managed to work his way up the ranks and establish a name for himself.
Taehyung, a hybrid w/ a difficult temperament, somehow falls under his care.
The only problem? Jeongguk wants nothing to do with him.
Little context:
More often than not, hybrids are sold as ‘pets’. The handful that do make smth out of themselves still fall victim to some sort of discrimination. Jeongguk’s gone through a lot & is disgusted by it all, so when Taehyung’s given to him, he hates the entire ordeal.
Notes
• Jeongguk has been aged up, so he’s four years older than Taehyung purely to allot for time wherein he becomes successful.
• This may border on nsfw.
• Taehyung will not act as a ‘pet’ or anything similar. He is a person.
