Let’s play connect the dots. I’ll say it again #FreeDumbConvoy is about establishing a RW insurgency. It’s not a coincidence that many #January6 insurrectionists have both participated in & promoted #CoupTruxKlan & the disinformation assault on #PMJT. #CdnNatSec #cdnpoli
Enter players like Tom Marazzo. His connections to radicalized current & former law enforcement & military can be seen most readily through “vets 4 freedom” & its allied group “camp eagle”. #FreeDumbConvoy #CdnNatSec #cdnpoli #OttawaOccupation
Marazzo also ran as a candidate for Derek Sloan’s neo-fascist “Ontario Party”, which enlisted the services of malignant insurrectionist, Roger Stone. #FreeDumbConvoy #CdnNatSec #January6thCommiteeHearings #cdnpoli #OttawaOccupation #CoupTruxKlan

1. Since I see that V4F plans an event in Ottawa and is promising a summer of protests, I thought this might be the time to talk about their relationship, or lack thereof, with Marcus Ray (aka Mark Chilcott).

cbc.ca/news/canada/ot…
2. Before I get to that I will begin with what might seem to be an irrelevant video of Chris Saccoccia (aka Chris Sky) berating his volunteers back in 2021.

Spoiler. Saccoccia is a really, really, irredeemably, terrible person
3. I bring this video up to make a point that Saccoccia is a narcissistic asshole.

And narcissistic asshole seem to gravitate towards other narcissistic assholes as he was working with Marcus Ray since at least October 2021.

1. When looking at the tragedy in Buffalo, NY where a murderer (inspired by another murderer in Christchurch, NZ) took the lives of 10 human beings, I've seen a lot of Canadians being smug and saying, "at least that can't happen here."

They are wrong.

theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
2. In fact Canadian right-wing extremists have punched above their weight when spreading the "Great Replacement" conspiracy which motivated both the Buffalo and, earlier, Christchurch murderers who rationalized their murders in racist screeds (I won't call them "manifestos").
3. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.

When the murders took place I checked to see what the reaction of right-wing extremists was.

In short, this is representative.

- Misinformation.
- Trudeau's fault.
- False flag.

1. I'm sure that most people have seen the video of Jagmeet Singh being accosted and threatened outside an NDP campaign office in Peterborough. If not I'll include the video but be warned that it is awful.

However I want to look at what happened in a broader context.
2. In September 2017 during the NDP leadership campaign I was among the first to publish a story about Singh being accosted by a woman linked to an anti-Muslim hate group.

"Woman Who Verbally Attacked Jagmeet Singh Tied to Rise Canada"

tinyurl.com/kcd4f6rv
3. Of course this wasn't the last time Singh would be targeted. In October 2020, Brian Kidder also accosted and threatened to "arrest" Singh for... reasons?

1. So while I can guarantee that I had a better time today than the "Rolling Thunder" crowd did (despite what they may believe) I thought it might be useful to provide a bit of a summary of the day's events in Ottawa.
3. I usually head to the usual suspects when I cover these stories and one of those people i look at is Kim Kerr who was also a participant in the February #OttawaOccupation.

Today though he had some bad luck.

1. Well it looks like the "Rolling Thunder" event turned into exactly what it was expected to have been, though the participants have been met with a much different police response.

So let's get started.
2. You'll remember that there was a controversy about Holocaust denier Chris Saccoccia's (aka Chris Sky) involvement.

3. Well he is currently in Ottawa and, despite his claims that the police were totally on side, he seems a bit upset.

THIS. THIS. THIS.
In my 3-year anniversary at @TheHillTimes, 5 years writing about #cdnpoli from marginalized perspectives, 5 years podcasting about politics, policy and pop culture with @badandbitchy. More people told me I couldn't do it because they couldn't see the vision 🧵
Most people told me that I'd ruin my career if I talked about race, white women and even said the word "white" pertaining to people. I've been doing this #onhere a long time and they were wrong. Why was I right? Because I knew the country I lived in better than them and...
...I knew there were A LOT of others who shared similar buckets of experiences as me. I also knew the conversations amongst marginalized communities were not the same convos in traditional (white) spaces. 5 years later the #ottawaoccupation and myriad of Twitter spaces erected...

No masking in Ontario makes complete sense…from a strategic #onpoli perspective…A 🧵

Ford govt strategists learned a lot from the #OttawaOccupation . There is small, but extremely vocal contingent of our population that is living in complete denial…
…of the pandemic. It’s far easier to ignore the pandemic, then it is to exercise the necessary precautions to end it.
In other words, personal sacrifice for community gain is no longer achievable.

“Politicians” around the country are looking to exploit this sentiment…
…and Doug Ford’s handlers are no different. The immediate discussion and subsequent lifting of protocols including masking shortly after the #OttawaOccupation ,sent the message that the Ford govt was listening to the plight…

1. When the convoy organizers were arrested, the participants went home, and the #OttawaOccupation ended, a lot of people decided that the crisis was over and they moved on to other concerns.

In fact the people who were radicalized and motivated by the convoy are still active.
2. In communities across the country and despite mandates ending (we can argue about whether this is justified), the same rage based in large part on misinformation continues to fuel slow rolls, protests, and harassment campaigns.

An example.

3. Among the people still agitating are people like Chris Saccoccia (aka Chris Sky) who, having found a credulous audience who doesn't mind his frequent verbal abuse directed at them, continues to gin up fear and anger for his own aggrandizement as well as for fun and profit.

1. Today @antihateca published this story by @misterEpete which is probably one of the best investigative and undercover journalistic efforts I have ever had the fortune to witness.

2. For years while running the blog I tried to crack the Hammerskins but was never really successful in doing so.

Today @misterEpete cracked that nut.
3. The story in many ways has its origins during the summer of 2019 when Pegida held another of their hate rallies which resulted in a major incident at the Eaton's Centre.

Many of the #freedumb fruckers are being made into folk heroes so let's meet #OttawaOccupier Kevin Eresman from Medicine Hat. He recently inherited Trojan Transport 403-527-5964 and headed for the #OttawaOccupation. #TimbitTaliban #MayonnaiseMilitia #ramranch ⬇️
Kevin started off slow and dirty at the #OttawaOccupation but moved up in rank to be right beside Parliament Hill to become one of the loudest at #TheHonkering #FluTruxClan. Kevin might be the reason the Ottawa police were worried about weapons. Kevin came with a secret. ⬇️
2021 investigating stolen firearms Lethbridge police arrested Kevin for possession of an unauthorized firearm and removing serial numbers. He's out on bail. #OttawaConvoy #TimbitTaliban #MayonnaiseMilitia #FluTruxClan Recently Kevin has ran into trouble for equally troublin.⬇️

1. Hey folks. I've been focused on my classes the last few weeks but thought I would post a thread.

Almost two months ago, Pat King posted a video that included this clip suggesting that he had a "get out of jail free" card by just saying the right magic words.
2. Those who have been following this particular saga know how that all went as Pat King remains, along with his side kick Tyson Billings, the only #OttawaOccupation leading figure still in jail almost 2 full months after his arrest.

sudbury.com/around-the-nor…
3. If one were to believe King however, the reason why he is still in jail is because he is looking (or "shopping") around for the absolutely best team of lawyers he can find.

1. Yesterday Randy Hillier turned himself in to the OPS.
2. Suffice it to say his supporters are not handling it well, many of who are outraged that their favourite politician is facing charges they believe politically motivated and are instead demanding politically motivated charges against politicians they don't like so... okay?
3. This very short comment, at least for me, really encapsulates who these people truly are however and is the most telling.

1. As an educator finishing up his 20th year in the classroom, I've come to recognize and look forward to serendipitous teachable moments.

And on March 20, Derek Harrison provided me with just such an opportunity.
2. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Derek Harrison (aka "Rants" aka "Rants Derek"), a founding and charter member of the Plaid Army/Diagolon seen in this video showing he doesn't understand what "coup" means, was a frequent subject of the ARC when it was active.
3. He was one of Faith Goldy's helper monkeys on her ill-fated mayoral campaign.

1. Yesterday was the first protest in Calgary after the injunction was granted to stop protesters from harassing residents in the Beltline.

There are a few excellent threads and I will get to those soon, but I thought I would offer my own $0.02.
2. First, the injunction didn't make protesting "illegal."

For what the injunction did do, take a look at the link.

cbc.ca/news/canada/ca…
3. Prior to the protest and in anticipation of the injunction being acted upon, one of the organizing groups (Calgary Freedom Central) posted this on their Facebook page.

🧵 At this point it shouldn’t surprise many that a Diagolon patch was spotted at Saturday’s protest in Calgary #yyc #yyccc

@antihateca described Diagolon as a neofascist far-right conspiracy movement that fantasizes about a bloody revolution.
1/
Here’s the clip showing a partial facial capture of the man sporting the Diagolon patch and a version of the Gadsden flag on his back-pack.

2/
If you recall, Diagolon hit the mainstream after @TonyYvce reported this video of Diagolon member Derek Harrison encouraging a violent insurrection during the #OttawaOccupation.

I rec’d some clips from the antimandate side on the protest in #yyc on Saturday.

I keep hearing that cops “negotiated” w/ #yycbeltline residents/supporters. It sounds more like Calgary police pre-planned the outcome in favour of occupiers to me
1/
2/ After being asked by an antimandate protestor about the plan this cop replies “We’re negotiating asking the other group to move. That’s the goal. So everyone else can go ahead”

This doesn’t sound like negotiating but rather a pre-determined plan by CPS.
3/ In this clip the same protestor expresses frustration that 18min after his conversation with the cop, the Beltline residents still hadn’t moved.

Entitlement so real. That’s what you get after waiting 2yrs before any enforcement actions are taken.

Back by popular demand (I don't actually know if that's true)🚨HORNY HONKIES 2🚨This thread dates back to before they came honking to Ottawa-#HornyHonkies: The first Honk.
It began with a question- only looking for anecdotal evidence from the 'boys':
#RamRanchResistance #Freedumb
🚨HORNY HONKIES 2🚨First 'boy' to weigh in suggests waiting a few years. Something tells me that won't be a problem...

Also, find women who are 'woken up.' That's a relief!! This group doesn't strike me as the type to pursue women who are awake.
#RamRanchResistance #HornyHonkies
🚨HORNY HONKIES 2🚨Our OP Honkie doubts he has many years left on this Earth-then why so picky? Take a risk-ask out a vaxxed woman & get rejected! YOLO!

The infertility fear is WILD in #freedumb chats. But that's another thread (stay tuned).

2. Because the world has gone mad and most attention is being paid to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, there probably won't be may updates in this thread. In fact as a lot of right-wing extremists have turned their attention to supporting Putin I'll probably soon focus on that.
3. However, in the meantime, we see a fascinating response to the end of the Emergency Act.

The supporters of the #OttawaOccupation appear to believe that they won?

#CBC doing a story on the occupiers. The man they interviewed could not define why he’s mad, and in particular how we are divided. When asked that question he referred to people who are struggling.

No one knows why they are mad and why it’s Trudeau’s fault. #OttawaOccupation
Yet again, the privilege of being able to go to Ottawa to vent his frustration goes unacknowledged.

Anyone who has seen real poverty and real
marginalization knows the difference between that and the occupiers.
So this blew up unexpectedly.

Here’s one take: no one likes to be told they are a bigot, even when they are. So many don’t see their bigotry and their privilege. They don’t like it when Trudeau does and says so - often).

1. Day 24.

I have a feeling that this is going to be, for all intents and purposes, the last longish thread and it won't focus entirely on this day's events.

Previous thread can be found here.

When do we start talking about how many of the occupiers subscribe to weird conspiracy theories involving the WEF, the fact that many own guns, the fact that some brought their loaded guns to Ottawa, and the fact that police and military members participated. #OttawaOccupation
They lost. Spectacularly. To Trudeau.

They were mad enough when they ridiculously thought this occupation would succeed. How are they going to conduct themselves now?
Policing agencies need to cleanse their ranks if these conspiracy theorists.

We need to take their guns. And we need to ban their guns.

Time for follow up on the thread re: La Crete Chamber sending a bus to #Ottawa on February 13 well after it was known the protest was not peaceful or lawful, with plans to meet with their MP @ArnoldViersen

Recap:

#freedomconvoy22 #RamRanchResistance
Andrew F, who was on the bus, updated the Chamber's posts about their timeline and also the group had a "very good meeting" with MP @ArnoldViersen. This was on Feb. 17, after #Ontario declared a state of emergency and the #EmergenciesAct was in place.

#OttawaOccupation #Ottawa
Their MP wasn't the only "famous face" they met; Barbie H, who appears to also be part of the La Crete Chamber group from her posts on the Mackenzie County Freedom Rally 2022 Facebook Group, is pictured here with #OttawaSiege organizers Danny Bulford and Chris Barber.

1. Day 23 and this might be my last long thread on the subject of the #OttawaOccupation and the blockades.

No doubt there will be other action but perhaps not the level of the past three weeks.

Yesterday's thread below.

2. While I haven't been focusing on the QAnon self-proclaimed Queen, Romana Didulo and her entourage continue to hold court in Ottawa in their world that continues to be divorced from reality.
3. But even she seems to recognize that it is time to go home.
