I wish I could be magnanimous and let this be sufficient, but I can't. Your manager intentionally made up a fake law to humiliate me, mocked me when I patiently showed him the actual law, and acted with condescension and aggression in response. Furthermore...
.@CubaLibreDC I am wholly unconvinced that "training" will address the shortcomings in the character of your manager. His callousness and bigotry far exceeded a simple lack of understanding. He was intentional in his discrimination. This person did not act in good faith.
.@CubaLibreDC You had a chance to do right by understanding the laws of this city. You had a chance by understanding the culture of this city, rich in LGBTQ experiences. You had a chance when I showed you the actual law. And you had a chance when the police confirmed it.
.@CubaLibreDC Your manager did not attempt to make amends last night. If he had walked over and given an apology after the police confirmed for him our city's laws, maybe we'd be okay. But instead, he lied to the police and refused to make things right. He acted liked a child.
.@CubaLibreDC People make mistakes, and when they do so in good faith (meaning with the best of intentions), I think space can be made to learn lessons, improve ourselves and each other, and move on. This is a person who is quite comfortable in his bigotry, and he is not sorry.
.@CubaLibreDC Finally, I don't know this "friend of a member of your party" of whom you speak, but it is not my responsibility to establish a line of communication at this juncture. I tried. My e-mail is in my bio, and I will get back to you at my convenience.
.@CubaLibreDC I am not your CEO's secretary, it is not my job to reach out beyond what I've already done, and your company's nonsense will not waste another minute of my time this weekend. Take tomorrow to reflect on your corporate culture. You will hear from someone next week.
