The report that Benue is host to self-help militias, where a self-confessed member of BH; Tashaku, was recognised by the state as a leader of a vigilante group that hacked and killed scores, under the guise of protecting the people of the state against armed Fulani herdsmen.
I did not seek the approval of anyone or security agencies to write that report, I'm not an employee of any security agency, I'm a journalist. My report is targeted at helping ordinary pple in the streets and those handling the problem or shaping policy, to accurate information.
Anyone that hold my report on Benue/Tashaku militia and my latest report on the herdsmen militia, with different standards, does not love #Nigeria. Every human life matter and we MUST all work together to prevent these needless bloodbath across the country.
When I first reported proof of life videos of #Chibokgirls and followed up the story, many that celebrated my work, then, ridicule me now for reporting the deaths of most of the girls. The report is being dismissed and any attempt to name the survivors will be met with threats.
I was harassed for my report on Benue militia. Many that feasted on the report then, have gone a step further to threaten me for my report on herdsmen militia. It appears we are not ready to confront our problems. I guess threats and stigma is my trophy for this work that I do.
