The fight for freedom is individualistic. It is when we meet on the path of purpose that we begin to use the term “WE” - Papa FELA Anikulapo’s family paid a huge price already for a populace that most probably didn’t appreciate their sacrifice now you want his kids to continue?
They are all doing their best and we must ask ourselves what we are doing to leave a legacy for our kids. The fingers should be pointed at the man in the mirror. No family is designed to fight for civil rights across generations. Do you part & make your name great.
Those fighting for their pocket know how ungrateful most Nigerians are. The politicians too know that the populace are mostly politician illiterates easy to Rewire. Why would they deliver when you don’t even know what to hold them responsible for? We are the problem.
Those who grew up under the philosophy of Fela Anikulapo Kuti have that indelible attribute that can not be hidden. They need not see a crowd before they apply themselves. They natural feel and care for others regardless of who is looking and especially when no one is watching.
No doubt @Femiakuti @YeniAKuti @RealSeunKuti and others in the family have a huge shoe to fill but nothing can be added to the legacy ‘our father’ left behind. We can only compliment and make our own mark on the sands of time, without living in his huge shadow.
Too much has been taken from that family and it is time we apply ourselves and stop looking for messiahs who will die for our sins. You can’t change any system without confronting it. What we can do now is make the confrontation strategic, rational, innovative and intelligent.
