To be honest, as someone who has a treasured limited-edition She-Ra doll on her desk, I’m not much into the new design. Delightfully, *the redesign isn’t FOR me* and kids are gonna love it. Why should anything else matter?
And I say this because I think it’s important to point out, don’t confuse “this isn’t my taste” with “this is a travesty, fire up the petition machine.” No one came and took that She-Ra doll away from me, a 39-year-old woman who isn’t a kid in need of formative heroes.
For the record, here is my (modern, recent) She-Ra doll. Birthday present a few years back. Came with two outfits. I promptly changed her into the frilly one like my childhood action figure had. *I am 39 and I support kids in 2018 getting their own new She-Ra, damn*

Re: the mask on that She-Ra doll, I would just like to point out that back in the day it seemed perfectly reasonable for someone to be like “Hey, Princess Adora, why is your crown so weird?” “So when I flip it like THIS, you WON’T KNOW IT’S ME!!!” “OMG WHERE DID ADORA GO???!!”
Anyway, *gestures at everything* is terrible, but dolls, sword ladies, and ‘80s nostalgia are actually my lane, so.
