Reading through Carter Page's redacted FISA warrant makes clear the extent to which Nunes abused his access to classified intel to mislead people. And it shows why we can't trust a single thing he or his buddies in the House say about the investigation.
The Nunes memo makes a big deal about the fact that the FISA warrant doesn't mention "the role of the DNC, Clinton campaign, or any party/campaign in funding Steele's efforts."

And it's technically true that the warrant doesn't mention the organizations by name (just as, for example, it doesn't mention Trump or his campaign by name). But it makes clear the FBI believes Steele's employer was looking for info "to discredit [Trump's] campaign."
That's the critical point: that this wasn't coming from some disinterested party, but was political oppo research. But Nunes makes it seem like the FISA court has no idea of that fact. And he wasn't the only one...
Here's Jim Jordan trying to mislead people by saying the application omitted "who paid for [Steele's work]."

And here's Matt Gaetz falsely claiming that the FISA application will "support and buttress all of the claims in the Republican memo."

This is important b/c they make claims about the Russia investigation based on info only they have. Like about doc production from DOJ or characterizing secret testimony. But we know they're liars who misuse secret info to mislead. So stop taking their word for it.
Case in point: there is no reason for any serious person, including a journalist, to believe Goodlatte about this or anything else related to the Russia investigation. And that's not b/c he's a partisan hack, but b/c he's a proven liar on this topic.
