The Bitcoin Whitepaper is a distinctly different document from the actual code.

Most of us have to get by using it to get an idea of what Satoshi envisioned in 2008.

But it’s not Bitcoin and it’s not Holy Writ.
For more context, that was added later, all of Satoshi’s communication, available at satoshi.nakamotoinstitute.org/posts/ would be a very good addition.

If anything, it shows the vision was not set in stone, and evolved.
Even then, it’s not the code. It’s not the “thing in itself”.

So making definite statements based on both of these sources is fraught with danger.
And even the code is not enough, as code interacts with the world.

Just like genetics is supplemented by epigenetics these days, I feel this interaction and the attendant behaviours need to be taken into account. That last one is my opinion, though.
In short: making definite statements about Bitcoin solely based on the whitepaper is selling Bitcoin short.

It also will lead to a very narrow and simplistic way of thinking about its impact.
