I'm old enough to remember when speed was measured in how many 1.44MB floppies you could fill on a 28.8k landline connection, nevermind a mobile network.
Also. The phone in my hand has 8GB of RAM. And 128GB of storage. This is a desktop PC from 2000. Jebus. My phone has nearly the same RAM as this computer had storage.
Sorry, 6GB but you get the idea.

Let me expand on this, a bit, because I think many people misunderstand the feminist critique of pornography, as I did for many years.
Circa 1985, when Andrea Dworkin & Co. were leading the feminist crusade against pornography, most Americans had zero exposure to hard-core porn. I know that I was clueless as to what the fuss was about, never having seen such stuff.
Prior to the mid-1980s, one had to go looking for actual hard core pornography, like at some grimy "XXX" theater or smut shop in the bad neighborhoods of a big cities.

In 1986 (I believe) at the Detroit Autorama, like the Auto Show only WAY better, I had the opportunity to meet Adam West. At the time however, I was meeting batman! Just like on TV! I was 8 years old (give or take a year.)
I was first in line. My mom grew up watching Batman, so I did too. Only in syndication for me. I saw all old Planet of the Apes movies for the same reason.
My mom had me there early. Now, bit older, I realize, that wasn’t just for me.

Old enough to remember to like 2 years ago when the fashion was to treat the numbers among independents as the most important part of the poll. Now just the opposite and there are lots of headlines about a politician's ratings within his own party.
The other thing that gets neglected here is that the Republican Party is fairly small. Per Pew Research, the share of Americans who identify as Republican dropped to 26% in 2017. That's tied (with 2009) for their lowest share in the past 25 years. pewrsr.ch/2JMrmV2
Now, another 15% or so of Americans *lean* toward the GOP, meaning they don't call themselves Republicans but will say they're closer to the GOP if pressed. Finding out Trump's approval among *that* group would be interesting; they're more important to his long-term viability.
