A thread for the tediously bored.
Bored on a Sunday afternoon, bored with the constant downward spiral of service, quality, professionalism. I've been having some trouble getting any common sense out of my local water company @SES_Business @SESWater 1/
They've been taking our money but failing miserably to account for it, in the sense of sending recognisable invoices and other basic stuff like that.
This extract from their annual accounts may be the reason: 2/
So, in order to work out who I should contact to get something done, I naturally researched the company a little bit. I picked the director who should have had the most concerns about the difficulties I was facing, the Finance and Regulation Director and I wrote to him.
Here’s the letter I received in response @SES_Business @SESWater
So, in order to work out who I should contact to get something done, I naturally researched the company a little bit. I picked the director who should have had the most concerns about the difficulties I was facing, the Finance and Regulation Director and I wrote to him. 6?/
Not having taken notes, previously, I retraced my steps and this time took a little more interest in the company structure and, in particular, the common directors (him) and the common ownership. 7/
Sutton and East Surrey Water Services Limited(S&ESWSL), the company I've been buying my water from, all these years, has two trading names now; SES Water and SES Business Water. 8/
Neither of these should be confused with SES Water Ltd or SES Business Water Ltd as those companies lie dormant but are owned by the company that owns the company that owns the first one, (S&ESWSL). 9/
(S&ESWSL) is owned by The Cheam Group Ltd which is owned by East Surrey Holdings Ltd, which also owns SESW Holding Company Ltd which owns Sutton & East Surrey Water plc. This is not to be confused with my water company even though they both sound similar and are both 10/
ultimately owned by East Surrey Holdings Ltd (ESHL) who also own SES Water Ltd and SES Business Water Ltd. Not to be confused with the web sites in those same names, they're operated by (S&ESWSL), remember? They're the ones who actually supply water. 11/
ESHL is, as previously stated, owned by The Cheam Group and all the companies I've referred to (Oh, except S&ESWSL) are operated by two old friends from the days before privatisation, our John Chadwick and his buddy Tony Ferrar. 12/
So our John is being absolutely truthful, in one respect, he did resign from S&ESWSL in 2016 but why bother, given he's the Financial Director on all the other companies up the chain so, ultimately, controls the whole shebang. 13/
ESHL is owned by Sumisho Osaka Gas Water UK Ltd, which is owned by Summit Water, which is owned by the Sumitomo Corporation of Japan (via subsidiaries). So, your local Sutton and East Surrey Water, a hopelessly inefficient organisation, 14/
is one of a plethora of tax avoiding entities that enable a Japanese Corporation to extract riches from selling you water at exhorbitant prices and have the whole lot controlled for them by these two inept lackeys. I'm an avowed capitalist but this, frankly, just stinks. /end
Oh! And finally, to add insult to injury, I received this. Obviously English isn’t Bianca’s 1st language but this would have been embarrassing in any language, frankly.

Oh @threadreaderapp unroll please!
P.S. It didn't. The "Managers breakdown" was all too painful to see, as these things often are.
PPS
I loved this little nugget:
Paul sold £3.5m shares to Peter so that Paul could buy the customer list off Peter to get the business up and running, rather than have someone just run off a report.
PPPS
This is how it's done. Just read and weep:
The thing about being patronising, something I strive to avoid, it’s not a unique or special skill. We can all do it. By way of demonstration.
