There are so many reasons Cindy Hyde-Smith is wrong for Mississippi.

One of the reasons that just came to light is her long history of racism, starting with attending a segregationist high school to sending her daughter to a similar one as well. #SaturdayMorning
Hyde-Smith attended a segregationist academy specifically designed to avoid Brown v. Board of Ed racial integration.

Not only that, but she also sent her daughter to a similar academy.

This Op-Ed is not well-intentioned. It is a self-congratulatory exercise in obfuscation, contradiction, and cowardice. I would like to enumerate these fallacies here.
First, the writer describes the country as "bitterly divided over Mr. Trump's leadership." "Divided" implies a "both sides" argument. But according to the author, Trump's "leadership style...is impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective."
In other words, the "bitter" divide is between people who are right, and people who are wrong. It would have been more accurate to say that the country is divided between people who accurately perceive Trump's incompetent fascism, and people who have fallen victim to it.

You cannot understand trump’s support for certain domestic and foreign policies unless you understand the connection between Putin and the far right in America.

Trump is an unusual president in that he doesn’t govern to the center, but instead, to his base, a minority of voters in America. Given that he does that, it’s important to understand his base-who are they?
They consist primarily of two factions-racist white nationalists and social conservatives.

White nationalists are the new incarnation of white supremacists. They believe in the creation of a white ethno-state and vehemently opposed to immigration and diversity.
