Formally called the United Nations Detention Unit (UNDU), Scheveningen Prison is a UN-administered jail. It was established in 1993 as part of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
The penitentiary also hosts the ICC Detention Centre for the detention of people awaiting trial before the International Criminal Court. The penitentiary was picked as a trial location for the International Criminal Court, through a UN Security Council Resolution in 2006.
Each detainee has his own toilet and washing area, access to a small gym and is offered training with a physical education instructor. Detainees are provided with meals, but they may also cook for themselves, purchase food from the prison shop, and have ingredients ordered in.
When he is finally captured and detained, Duterte would have a personal computer in his cell, on which he can view material related to his case. Detainees like Duterte would be offered computer training, if required, and language courses.
Duterte would allowed to communicate in private with their defense teams and diplomatic representatives. They are permitted visits from family members (if not also detained), spouses and partners, and spiritual advisors like Quiboloy, if he is not arrested for other crimes.
Duterte may request the ICC to allow him to bring his kulambo into his cell.
