I have a shower thought/theory, and I'm sort of hesitant to share but whatever. It's Twitter and there is only one account on this service that matters and this one ain't it. Anyway, it's about this latest Alex Jones call for armed insurrection.
I don't want to link the Periscope vid b/c I don't want to spread the crazy, but Jone's latest stunt is telling everyone to get their rifles ready because it's almost go-time. So the first thing that occurred to me about this, is that Jones is a carnival barker everyone knows it.
If Jones actually blows the whistle, maybe some small group of crazies will gun up run out of their houses, but nobody else will, because even people who listen to him are kinda in on the joke. But then I got to thinking, is there somebody who actually could blow the whistle?
Is there a personality that, if he got on TV and said, "grab your rifles, it's go time," some decent size portion of the people who are serious about guns would take to the streets? From my time in the trenches of the gun world, I think there is. It's not Trump...
It's Mattis.

So if at any point things get dicey, like from an Mueller or whatever, & people start speculating (as they have in fits and starts since 11/16) what, if anything, is gonna happen, my theory is to watch Mattis. Inversely, if Mattis tells everyone to go home, that also would work.
So, y'know, FWIW (not much probably), that is my "worst-case scenario shower thought" for the day. Mattis is the one guy who is universally revered by everyone you'd worry about if things to super weird around here. So he's the guy to watch IMO.
People are like "why not Trump?" Ok, Trump could raise some level of ruckus for sure. It might get kinda scary, but if that happened and Mattis came on TV and told everyone to calm down, they would get calmed down. Mattis > Trump by an order of magnitude.
