*Trigger warning* Why have the Ripplers become so obsessed with decentralization even though it's a premined centralized altcoin which was so centralized that a part of the history is lost forever? A thread.

Why the sudden obsession with decentralization? In the past Ripple (sorry $XRP) got added to most exchanges almost immediately since it had a relatively high (top 5) marketcap. Due to more strict regulations and the very real possibility $XRP is a security this stopped happening.
And it's annoying the hell out of them, see all the Twitter replies to any @coinbase tweet. With the price down over 92% in the last 8 months they're getting increasingly desperate. Bagholders holding very very heavy bags, some need x10 to break even. 
They looked at $ETH, which is also a (largely) premined altcoin, to see why they didn't qualify as a security. Well first of all $ETH had VCs lobbying the SEC nytimes.com/2018/04/19/tec… $XRP can't do that since they don't have any influential investors.
When talking about $ETH the SEC official said: "Based on my understanding of the present state of ether, the ethereum network and its decentralized structure, current offers and sales of ether are not securities transactions." coindesk.com/sec-official-e…
$ETH obviously isn't decentralized at all, but "decentralization" is a new and complex concept with a lot of different aspects. So what $XRP is now trying to do is take 1 small aspect of decentralization (validating) and try to tell a fairy tale about how they're decentralized.
All this in order to try to get listed on more and bigger exchanges to pump the price while at the same time trying to avoid getting delisted on others.
"Why do you care? Are you scared? $XRP is better than Bitcoin!"
