When Putin invaded Georgia in 2008 to punish it for desire to leave Russian colonial past & reunite with Europe - McCain was the 1st American standing up with and for us.
When we rose up against kleptocratic regime in Ukraine in 2013, just to see it slaughtering peaceful protesters later - McCain was the 1st American standing up with and for us.
I remember frustrating winter of 2013, when I worked 24/7 alerting the world about rising oppression of peaceful Maidan protestors that will eventually lead to a slaughter, but nobody would care. Until the day when McCain picked up our call for help and amplified around the globe
All I’m saying is the fact that some of McCain’s domestic stances left many Americans upset doesn’t cancel out gratitude of millions of us around the world who will remember him as the friend of the oppressed.
And vice versa.
