I was reading this brilliant analysis by @AshequeH re: AQ ideologue Tamim al-Adnani's latest speech. Then it dawned. The only people who can freely criticise Hasina and her regime in today's Bangladesh are the jihadis, while Shahidul Alams rot in jail.

Of course the jihadis are issuing their sermons from the shadows and in an open society, this would not have much credence. But, in a society where voices like Shahidul Alam's are silenced, jihadis like Adnani fill a vacuum. Theirs become the loudest messages.
Anyone who sees Hasina and her regime as best equipped to tackle the jihadi threat in Bangladesh need to wake the f up and smell the coffee. //

*A note on BCL*

I have been talking to survivors of the recent attacks in Dhaka (from Mirpur to Dhanmondi to Bashundhara) since yesterday and the evidence is just flooding in.
There is overwhelming evidence of how BCL (student wing of ruling AL) took over the streets and terrorised, brutalised, bloodied everyone from school children to university students, with a clear aim of scaring the peaceful protesters off the streets.
The campaign of engineering fear among regular, general students is ongoing as I write (and as you read) this post.

CTTC in #Bangladesh has filed a chargesheet in relation to its investigation into the jihadi carnage at Holey Artisan Bakery in July 2016. Read on for facts that are *not* cited in the chargesheet. This, to record the truth about the July 1, 2016 attack.
Fact # 1: The attack was carried out by the Bangladeshi affiliate of ISIS: Dawlatul Islam Bengal. That ISIS was behind the attack was proven very early on when Amaq started posting about the attack *and* when it posted pictures of dead hostages.

Fact # 2: The attack was planned and coordinated by Candadian-Bangladeshi jihadi Tamim Ahmed Chowdury, who is named in the chargesheet. That Tamim aka Abu Dujanah al-Bengali was the "head of military and covert operations" of ISIS in Bangladesh is *not* noted in the chargesheet.

One of those WTH moments. When I first saw this photo this morning, my jaw dropped. One of the top al-Qaeda/Ansar al-Islam ideologues in #Bangladesh, visiting a #Rohingya refugee camp, in broad daylight 🤨 And posting about it on Facebook 🤪
So this is Maulana Muhammad Ishak Khan, an AQIS/Ansar leader whom I interviewed once and had correspondence with on and off. Khan is the Bengali translator and publisher of Anwar al-Awalaki's lectures. He is also a top lieutenant of Jasimuddin Rahmani.
My interview with Khan was focused on Bangladeshi followers of Awlaki. That was back in 2016. He was (most likely) hiding in Malaysia then, and touring through the region, hosted by the jihadis there. Here is Khan somewhere in Indonesia

First, to quote the great Ann Coulter, it's laughable to think that any Founder, Framer or Amender of the Constitution intended for American citizenship to be the prize in a game of Red Rover with the Border Patrol. We're a nation of laws, after all.
Second, #14Amendment was one of three emancipation-related amendments to the #Constitution, designed to grant citizenship to former slaves and their children. The congressional record shows nobody believed 600,000 Americans died to give Congress the chance to open the borders.

People’s response to McCain’s passing and his memorial today shows me that we are very bad at nuance.
John McCain fought for and served his country. He had a life dedicated to serving the public.

He also made a number of racist comments over the years and consistently voted in ways that hurt marginalized people. Also, Sarah Palin.
George Bush got on TV after 9/11 and defended Muslim Americans. My parents were in awe.

He then got us into a nonsensical war that included gross human rights violations. He also presided over economic policies that led to the Great Recession.

Whatever political party or ideology, we're all Americans of the USA.

When you turn disagreements into personal attacks, then you become a troll who's only thoughts are hate & war
That's what I see a lot of MAGA Trump fanatics doing on social media, for the last three years, on a daily basis.

The reason they are accused of being Russian Bots is because it's such an unAmerican attitude, such an alien attitude, such an ugly hatred, being displayed.
The hatred these people are showing online is not normal in everyday America.

These kind of insults are the kind of ridiculous elementary school insults you expect from 10 year olds...

It's not the kind of discourse you expect from full grown adults with rational minds.

#Today's story to #EndFamilySeparation Four months ago, Dad and 4-month-old entered at the Texas/Mexico border and requested #asylum. Dad and child were immediately separated and the baby put in ORR custody. #FamiliesBelongTogether
Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation
The Mom and Dad now have once weekly Skype calls with their 8-month-old baby. That's right, folks. They Skype with an infant. #EndFamilySeparation #FamiliesBelongTogether
