Okay, and I want to talk briefly about another thing I picked up at @dragoncon. There was a big, busy booth near a far wall in Artist's alley, and it was busy all the time. I was swamped, but curious.

@DragonCon It was a newish indie book, I don't know much about it, but MAN these people were doing EVERYTHING right. Huge banner, explained the concept of their book beautifully, were super friendly to all.

The book is called TUSKEGEE HEIRS. Now, I was sold right there. The Tuskegee Airmen story is just an amazing tale, and their huge banner made me want the book, so I later sent hubby to pick it up when I couldn't get away.

The story is a sci-fi adventure, with a bunch of gifted young pilots fighting a race of artificially intelligent invaders.

I mean, come ON, that is an idea I want to read.

I don't know the creators, but the story is Marcus Williams and Greg Burnham, with art by Marcus Williams. And the book is gorgeous, absolutely at a high pro level.

At one point, there's a tragedy, and it's a genuine heart punch. And the trainees only have paintball weapons in their fighter jets.

I mean, again, COME ON, that's awesome.

Pages two and three, notice the painless introduction of characters right in the middle of the action. Seriously, this is how you do it, guys. Give something excellent that is professional in quality, that the big companies aren’t doing.

Apparently this started on Kickstarter. They have merch, too. Apparently they are based in Atlanta.

I loved this book. A little history, a little Voltron, a little Independence Day. @netflix, make this a movie!

Anyway, I highly recommend this, they had a vision and they pulled it off beautifully. Really joyful presentation, too!

Anyway, this book made me really happy. No gimmicks, no hate, just great comics. I loved it.
