For months Malayalam print media, taking the lead from Manorama, splashed made up bullshit on their front pages - about the ISRO guys’ “espionage activities” and their liaisons with sexy foreign agents. Their lives were trashed just to settle an intra-party factional feud.
The top buzzword in Kerala media in 1994, when this hitjob happened?

To understand what a well-planned operation it was:
Manorama picked out Miriyam Rashida, a random Muslim woman from Maldives who happened to be in Trivandrum and painted her as a foreign spy sent to honeytrap ISRO folks. And filled miles of newsprint with made up sexcapades.
