Let me correct myself, NO 'NEWS' value. It will certainly be valuable from the standpoint to winding up the dimms to say more stupid crap.
And since I think that we 'planted' the anonymous op-ed to stir the pot, I also think that this story was 'planted' in order to help move the needle on the patriotism of RR in the minds of the people. Time will tell.
The funny thing is that the dimms that buy into the Russia narrative, will view this story as RR being patriotic by wanting to stop Trump. The moderate dimms and conservatives will view this and consider RR's patriotism as a traitor. There are FAR more that believe the latter.
This line from the NYT article will tell you everything you need to know about the validity of the information, due to it's absurdity......

So you know how desperate the NYT is on getting a 'hit' piece out on Trump- even if the subject in the article categorically denies it......

So [RR] is the subject- completely shreds the article's claim about his actions- & the NYT still runs the article. #HowFakeNewsWorks

I will GUARANTEE you this- There are enough specific nuggets in this article that whoever leaked certain information to the NYT- could be EASILY identified.
