Trump at @UN: “The US will always choose independence over global governance.… America won’t be victimized.” (It’s like he’s the fake leader of Parador. The entire world alternates between laughter, tears & nausea that the great USA has an illiberal imbecile for president) 
Trump’s UNGA speech was like getting your teeth drilled. The room literally laughed as his opening hit parade of braggadocio. The platitudes, fake victimization, the ending: Let’s choose sovereignty & patriotism over global domination and defeat. Forever strong, forever sovereign
Trump’s UN speech was worse than bullshit. Globalism isn’t ripping us off. We’re the wealthiest nation on the planet. But corrupt pols that have rigged the system so all the wealth goes to them. “Sovereignty” & “Patriotism” are bogeyman words demagogues use to mask corruption.
CNN @jeffzeleny nails it: Trump is used to hand-picked audiences at his speeches & rallies. So when he was laughed at at the UN today, he covered his humiliation by saying he “meant” it for laughter. No he didn’t. It was his std braggart stand-up act we’ve heard a million times.

(One of the ironies of his absurd "nobody's laughing at America anymore" talking pt: Now everyone really is laughing—b/c of him)
