Nominated by a president who may be guilty of federal crimes.

Credibly accused of sexual assault by multiple women.

Repeatedly and demonstrably lied under oath.

Gave unhinged, belligerent, conspiratorial testimony.

AND NOT ONE REPUBLICAN VOTED NO.

I'm watching Trump, Pelosi, and Schumer bicker about the budget and the wall. This spectacle is beneath the dignity of this country.
Of course I agree with the Dem position, but the fact that we're here is just sad.
For anyone misconstruing my tweet, I'm agreeing with what Nancy Pelosi said: "I don’t think we should have a debate in front of the press on this." The fact that Trump got schooled is a good thing. But the reality is that none of us should want that kind of spectacle.

Sexual assault is a crime and so is making a false allegation. Somehow, we always tend to presume innocence for men accused of sexual assault, but we never presume the innocence of women accused of making up a rape story. The due process argument is a sham.
What would due process really look like for all involved? A trauma-informed, sensitive investigation. We didn't get that with #Kavanaugh. We don't get it in most criminal cases of sexual assault.
But presuming that men accused of sexual assault are innocent? It isn't due process and it can't be. It threatens the due process rights of the women making sexual assault allegations.

I have heard non-stop complaints from the right about "hysterical" and unfair Democratic treatment of Brett Kavanaugh, and even praising Lindsay Graham's diatribe in the hearing last week (e.g. Kathleen Parker's recent nauseating column).
As far as I've seen, Democratic politicians have bent over backwards to be fair and judicious about Brett Kavanaugh. However, the Democratic base is definitely upset, and they have every reason to be upset.
