kandinsky. this is what happens when you forget that paintings have to be beautiful. no ones gonna read ur book about why this is deep. are people fighting to get in front of these when theyre hanging in museums? fat chance
phillip guston. hate seeing these IRL, something about them is just disturbing.
really truly hate the art of lucian freud (related to that freud). his paintings always bring out what is ugly, awkward, and gross about people. to use paint in this way is wrong, it is like an altar to ugliness. oftentimes IRL the paint texture is absolutely disgusting
dekooning. dont even know what to say about this. beyond parody. cannot imagine enjoying art like this without lsd
clifford still. why is this shit in like every museum. once again could be cool if ur on acid but not good paintings. only interesting as a mental exercise in finding random visual stimuli interesting.
