Don’t let The Man fool you. We won’t fix the climate crisis by individually changing our diets or our transportation.

We have to change policies, laws, and energy infrastructure. This is the climate action we need.

Sure, go veg, take public transit, etc. But that’s just gravy.
I feel like recycling is the biggest con ever by fossil fuel industry. Instead of actually reducing carbon emissions, people have been pacified by having two trash cans instead of one.
When the media tells us to change our consumption habits to fix the climate crisis, they’re gaslighting us.

It’s not our fault. Fossil fuel companies and their politicians have fought against climate action with lies.

Don’t let them trick you into thinking you’re the problem.
What is the take-home lesson of the new IPCC report? It’s that we need governments to massively ramp up investment in clean energy. Wind and solar are actually cheaper than fossil fuels!
Did you know the US is still in the Paris Agreement and we don’t pull out until the day after the 2020 presidential election?

Climate action happens in the voting booth. We can get Congress to pass jobs bills and invest in infrastructure for a clean energy economy.
This argument that we fly too much? It’s a distraction that the fossil fuel industry loves, because it keeps us from focusing on the real problem. As explained so well by @SarahEMyhre blogs.scientificamerican.com/observations/s…
Let’s say you worked on meat-eating, coal-rolling Uncle Ron for five years, and he decided to go veg, never fly, and buy a Prius. Yay.

Imagine instead you put all that effort inti your city council and they committed to ambitious clean energy targets. That’s where impact lies.
