@beewol Well looks like since the launch is eminent there is a chance to review the #EquatorNews website to help the new kid on the block rise up to the level of the big boys

- A Drupal 8 website with default settings that need to be secured ASAP
- Remove MetaContent generator and CMS specific generator content
- I see only users with id 51 and 54 have content
- Numeric IDs of authors and news stories need to be hidden

- news story links only have numbers - at least have the titles
- Add a Robots.txt and sitemap.xml
- 404 pages should have branding and provide users with next steps
- Provide complete bios for the authors of the stories

1. Nice font that makes reading stories easy

2. Good display in different browsers and on mobile

3. No blatant errors or spelling mistakes in the content

4. Sharing of stories works for Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp works

5. Site loads fast

1. Why would I read your news other than other sites?

2. Who are the journalists writing the stories?

3. Additional Sections:
- Consumer and General Technology
- Agriculture
- Science you can use at home
- Self Help - health, career, home care

- The why behind the news
- After the breaking story - detailed analysis and opinion pieces

Being a senior developer is from experience, which only comes with time.

A good measure is the Malcolm Gladwell 10,000 hour rule of mastery.

IMO a Senior developer is one on their way to achieving mastery of one aspect of the craft i.e. ~ 6,000 hours of practice

Maybe the question is not only about #JuniorDevs but rather how do we grow the talent that organizations & the industry needs.

I am the proud product of an internship program that was started by a passionate returnee technologist who had worked at Bell Labs #DevDiscuss
The model used was:

1. Identify bright young pre-college students

2. Embed them with full-time developers (employees) and find ways to develop their skills and harness their eagerness to learn by working on real-world client projects

3. Focus on the hard skills, and the soft skills - time keeping, communication, team playing, learning, presentation skills in the same vein

4. During university a 30 min public transport ride away, they would work 16 hours a week plus (2 half days and Saturday)

Quick Review of the #NSSFGoApp

1. Login requires phone number and email yet estatement portal requires NSSF No.

2. There is a popup display ~XXXXXX~ maybe the developers left it in there

3. When one enters email the app checks for SMS … received

4. Why does the app need access to media on my phone? Why is the external permission necessary for an app that provides information? #AppSecurity

5. Hamburger menu in top left hand corner does not work
6. No way to log out of the app - so deleted don’t want my NSSF information lying around on my phone un-secured

Quick thoughts on immigration white paper. Whatever you think of policy - it’s probably one of/the best Brexit white paper in terms of detail/supporting analysis, it swerves a couple of very very tricky or very very political issues
The white paper dodges the question of net migration target (as Sajid Javid tried to on the radio) by not mentioning it but cross referring to the Conservative Party manifesto… which does have 100,000 target.
It also dodges what happens after March 2019 if there is no deal? DExEU have said what happens to citizens already in UK, nothing yet from govt on EU citizens arriving after Mar19

Someone said people need not look up to others & should think for themselves. Why then do we need Coaches? The world’s greatest have them. We’re created for impact & influence remember? Nothing makes you disciplined in the art than having a sincere mirror that prompts and guides.
There many people out here I look up to. We all have our days when nothing makes sense. A time when we feel deflated and depressed sometimes for no reason. For people who think lack & poverty are the only cause of depression please think again. The rich also cry.
I’ve been very fascinated with neurological sciences since I was a teenager and have come to find that our moods and lives are countrolled by chemical secretions in the brain. Dopamine, Seretonin, Oxytocin, Noradrenaline and Adrenaline. These chemicals are what the drugs control.

I had just transferred from a military secondary school in jos to another public secondary school close to my house in Gbagada where I would be completing my senior secondary education. It was SS1 1st term & I was the new kid on d block.
Every1 wanted 2 be my friend, boys & girls alike.I couldn't help but notice though how like a new disease I had come 2 plague all d girls.

Based on discipline coming from a military school,my white uniform was always neat; properly washed, with enough starch and aro (blue)
