A brain works like a computer. If you input too much information, the CPU gets overloaded quite possibly negatively affecting the important processes like "Qur'an learning" etc.

Games, TV and such programs hog the CPU, and clog the memory. So Qur'an learning gets bogged down.
Memorization works like hard drive optimization. If you have numerous random bits of sectors constantly being downloaded, all randomly placed in different sectors, their optimization can take immensely long time.
When your child absorbs Qur'anic Ayah, ALONG with 900+ information data from their social feeds, games, tv etc. it is impossible to expect child will be able to readily & effectively store that 1 specific Quranic information.

Then you say my child is not memorizing fast enough.
In fact, I have learnt that this memory hogging also deprives them from simple phonetic processes like recognition of letter vs their pronunciation.

Since they have so many other outlets to cater for, they simply make Qur'an learning to be their least priority process.
