Q: At what stage do you think should an entrepreneur think about framing Company Culture?
A: Day 1! Culture always comes first, that's how we started.
Q: At an early stage should an entrepreneur focus on building Company culture or product?
A: It's a mix of both really, but we started out culture first & continue to be so ❤️
Q: Where does WebEngage go from here?
A; We continue to grow, we will continue to build more value for our customers in this space, we aim to scale to 30M over the next few years, hopefully, we'll get there 🤞
Q: What are some of your core values at Webengage?
A: There are so many, but the most important is to have GREAT INTENT, great non-malicious intent. Everything else becomes easy when you have great intent - that's the core of everything that we stand for at WebEngage.
Q: how do you manage to keep employees motivated & in line with the company's mission?
A: We will give you a great workplace, a great team & make sure that everyone around you is bullish about your success. If despite this you need motivation, then you probably don't belong.
Q: There is Burrp mafia. Will there be Webengage mafia in future?
A: Yes, I definitely want there to be a WebEngage mafia, and one that's much bigger and better than the Burrp! mafia. Given the amount of value these guys create here, it's going to be massive! Wait and watch ;)
Q: How do you find great talent?
A: It's not easy. It's a lot of personal networking that you use. Subsequently, it becomes about culture - once you hire the right kind of people, they attract more like-minded people. Hiring by referral is one of the most reliable ways in-house.
Q What are the biggest failures in your journey with Webengage?
A: I've gone wrong in probably every single dept, be it sales, marketing, prod... But we still continue to survive as we accept mistakes very easily & course correct.
Q: What's the biggest challenge when growing from10 to 100 people?
A: When you're small, the founders are very accessible & that leaves little room for problems. But when you grow, you get busier & founders become less accessible, that leaves people with more questions.
& no-one to look up to. We tackled this by bringing in HR early on and empowering them, making them accessible - this opens up the doors between you and a larger team.
