Cutting emissions in half is what we need to do, and the public needs direct conversations at scale in order to do it. This is particularly important for influential people, who also likely have higher emissions than average.

What's interesting is that @Facebook could help. Not helping at present, but maybe some effort could be put into:

Not just @Facebook. @Google could put this GIF on everyone's search page tomorrow; that would be the responsible thing to do. It shows the extraordinary present-day challenge of 2C (let alone the 1.5C target of the #IPCCReport).
Follow the GIF with a discussion of what 'negative emissions' means; who is doing the work and what resources do they need to make anything like this happen.

So we (@NairaBET) have this account we keep at Polaris. It’s where we save money to pay salaries at the end of the month.

After paying salaries, we grow it to about N40m so we can meet the following month’s payroll.

We decided to pay December salary before Christmas. Our plan was to pay annual bonus (half of monthly salary) on the 31st.

At the point of making the transfer, it failed. We tried multiple times and it kept failing. So we contacted the bank.

That was when the saga started.
Polaris Bank told us there was a demand by EFCC that a PND (post no debit) be placed on our account. We discovered that it was placed about two weeks earlier.

So we asked our account officer what to do. He said he wasn’t sure. He asked if I knew anyone at EFCC so I could know.

I was born & raised in Chicoral, Colombia. A tiny town in the middle of the Andes Cordillera.
I attended Nuestra Señora del Rosario school, located in Espinal, 15Km away from Chicoral. Due to the high heat by noon, all schools start really early back home. This meant, I had to wake up at 5am to attend school every morning since I was 4 years old. #VoicesIWS
I did well in math and science in elementary and high school, so I chose to study clinical microbiology. Although coming from a low-middle income family, I was able to attend university, thanks to my parents’ effort to prioritize education over other commodities. #VoicesIWS
