1/ A good number of people - and I'm hearing from many of them today - actually believe the migrant caravan is going to waltz across our southern border and vote for Democrats in the midterms. Setting aside the fact that the caravan won't get here until nearly two months...
2/ ...after the midterms, the imaginary belief that 5,000 or so people can just hop across the border into our country is jaw-droppingly stupid. That's not how any of this works, and people who honestly believe that are beyond help. I can't educate someone who doesn't believe...
3/ ...that facts exist. People who think that way should embarrassed by their own ignorance. But they're not, and that's because this country has somehow managed to glorify and insulate stupidity. It's a damn badge of honor at this point. And that needs to stop.
4/ Stupid is stupid. And if you want to run around and spout your willfully ignorant views without a lick of concern for whether they might be, you know, idiotic, then you should be called out and embarrassed. Enough already. Stupid isn't authentic. It's stupid. Period. END
P.S. And before anyone lables this some elitist take, I'm not talking about formal education. Some of the smartest people I've known never set foot in college, and some of the dumbest people I've known have degrees. This is about knowing right from wrong and truth from bullshit.
