The most stunning revelation of #WNTTDevon came in the excellent chat after the outstanding event itself, although there were plenty of new (to me) and shocking facts from the speakers. I hope you’ll correct me if I have misunderstood.

I’d known that the GRC allowed the applicant to have their birth certificate legally falsified to show their sex as the opposite one to their birth and that the process was sealed so the public weren’t allowed to view the original certificate.

What I learned is that there is, apparently, no central record of the original name and sex of the person who has now stepped clean from the ordure of their past, all sins expunged, no questions asked.

What if there’s a previous crime, or unsavoury business dealings, laid to the applicant’s charge under their previous identity? That’s now concealed along with their former life.
What if there’s a new crime, is there any way to link that to the previous identity?

Can we be sure that fingerprints will link e.g., Shirley John to the previous John Shirley?
What are the chances that John Shirley can decide to slough off his business failure, bankruptcy, CCJ, or DBS record and apply to become Shirley John?

Then repeat, setting up a new business, reap the profits from it, then abandon that business, & identity, & gain a #GRC to change sex legally again? How does the @HMRC know to get the taxes due to pay for health, education or welfare costs? This seems like dereliction of duty.

This is what I understand to be the case. As I said, I’d be delighted to be shown to be wrong. Because, if it’s true, then there are no adults left.
