This election ended with a maniacal Trump fan trying to blow up a dozen of the President’s most prominent critics, and a Nazi murdering 11 Jews in a synagogue, inspired by racist demagoguery over the migrant caravan.

And I’m telling you the racist incitement is gonna get worse
Trump will conclude - and not totally wrongly - that the relentless racist bile about the caravan worked. That he knows better than anyone how to drive out the base, and he’ll keep relentlessly pushing the margins.
And lets be clear, here: it’s not just Trump. Paul Ryan’s Super PAC funded ads calling a Democratic Rhodes Scholar a “big city rapper” over and over. And Paul Ryan and all the people who work for him know exactly what they’re doing.

Serious question: is there actuall proposed legislative language about what "The Wall" is and/or what the 5.6 billion would go towards that the WH has drafted? Like, what does the bill text for that appropriation look like?

I chose Oct 29th for this thread because that’s when they really started picking up.

#Trump's last campaign rally of the 2018 mid-term election season is scheduled to start in about ten minutes. It's his THIRD rally of the day. Dude is likely exhausted and I doubt this rally will be less "speech" and more "incoherent tirade".

Like most Jews, I’ve spent the last 24 hours in a state of despair.

I grew up in synagogues: my father was a rabbi and my mother directed a synagogue’s religious school. Though I’m not from Pittsburgh as I read the news I couldn’t help thinking of the synagogues I grew up in.
Beyond the tragedy of this attack, one of the things that has struck me is almost how unsurprising it feels. Even as the synagogue was always like a second home to me, it was also always a space that I knew was a potential target for people who hate Jews.
Despite the ridiculous, blame shifting comments about security, Jewish institutions already have high security. Having both parents working in synagogues meant that I grew up hearing about the new security measures synagogues were taking “just in case.”
