BREAKING: Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says he is thinking of taking power away from Gov.-elect Tony Evers even before he is sworn in.

This would be done in a lame duck session sometime over the next 2 months.

Senate Majority Ldr. Scott Fitzgerald hasn't said if he is on board.
Fitzgerald is willing to consider this, per a spokesman:

"He has said previously that he is open to it, and plans to discuss the topic with Senate Republican caucus members tomorrow."
Vos on whether he can get along with @Tony4WI:

"If he chooses to poke Republicans in the eye, he will end up getting very little of what he wants. So that’s a choice I can’t make for Tony Evers. He’s got to make it for himself."
Vos, con't: :But the people (Evers) surrounds himself with, the strategy that he employs, if he chooses to introduce a whole lot of very partisan, very liberal policies to rev up people in downtown Madison, well, he’ll probably have a lot of failures."
Evers' team is silent on these developments so far.
Outgoing Gov. @ScottWalker would have to sign off on anything like this during his last weeks in office. We haven't heard yet if he would go along with it.
And we don't know if Vos or Fitzgerald could get a plan like this through both houses.

And we don't know what specific limits on the governor's powers would be adopted.
Evers spokeswoman @BrittCudaback:

“It’s unfortunate that Speaker Vos is doubling down on division just hours after Governor-elect Evers called on Speaker Vos and Majority Leader Fitzgerald to set aside differences and work together on the pressing issues facing our state.
Cudaback, con't: "These are the same desperate antics of politicians hellbent on staying in power after eight years. The people of Wisconsin deserve better from our government, and that’s why they voted for a change yesterday.”
