1. This, from the govt, is astonishingly disingenuous.

2. Just before Christmas, @MattHancock sneaked out No Deal Brexit guidance *ordering* NHS staff to “reassure” patients (link below).

3. We shall do no such thing. We are doctors, not spin doctors, & we have grave concerns.
It disgusts me that @theresa_may is playing fast and loose with my patients’ lives by threatening a No Deal Brexit that we know would severely imperil the medicines supply chain.

Even @MattHancock has refused to rule out patient deaths in the event of No Deal.

Appalling.

Thread. Yesterday in the hospice was bittersweet, as you’d expect. The New Year’s birth, my patients’ imminent deaths. A day of tears and torment, you might imagine. (1/10)
In fact, the creak of a turning world was irrelevant. But arriving husbands, wives, children, parents, friends, colleagues, loved ones? Boy oh boy, were they important. (2/10)

A couple of thoughts about #PeoplesVote:

1/
Lots of attention (rightly) focused on UK path to making this happen (via legislation post-meaningful vote stuff), but that's not the whole of it

2/
The Withdrawal Act states that 'exit day' is 29 March 2019 (legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2018/16/…) so if more time is needed to run a referendum (which it would be), then amendment of the Act would be necessary
