In August 2014, an #Ohio judge punched his then-wife 20 times & slammed her head against the dashboard of his car 5 times, breaking her orbital bone. The couple’s children were in the back of the car.He served 9mths. He is accused of killing her on Saturday cleveland.com/metro/2018/11/…
Lance Mason had previously served in the Ohio state legislature. After his release from prison - after punching his wife 20 times and slamming her head against the dashboard 5 times - Mason was hired by Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson as a minority business development director.
Fraser Mason, who needed reconstructive surgery on her face after her husband - who was them a sitting judge - attacked her, filed for divorce two days after the incident. The divorce case is still pending.
How many other judges and powerful men, men with the power to make laws, to sentence people to prison as punishment, are men who abuse, beat and kill the women they live with or who dared to leave them?
We just saw Brett Kavanaugh - a man accused of sexual assault - confirmed as a judge for life on the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court, where he joins another Justice who was accused of sexual harassment.
Kavanaugh was successfully nominated by a man accused by more than a dozen women of sexual assault and yet was himself elected President of the USA. You would think that assaulting women ruined a man’s career! You would think.
These horror stories always remind me of this from feminist psychiatrist Judith Herman:

“The legal system is designed to protect men from the superior power of the state but not to protect women or children from the superior power of men.”
