A few thoughts on alternatives to Brexit...
- Bring in proportional representation
- Cancel HS2 and spend the tens of £billions on improving *regional* rail and other transport links
- Turn the HOL into an entirely elected second chamber (its oversight function is useful)
- Recognise the merit of a booming economy in London and the SE. Celebrate it and nurture it. Then milk the cash cow and spread that delicious cream across the whole of the UK.
- Foster an entrepreneurial mentality that rewards a "British Dream" (parallels to the American Dream)
- End the culture of secrecy in Government, except in cases of genuine national security. Transparency and accountability at every level. Shine a bright light into the darkest corners.
- Set up a "regional sifting committee" to vet all large infrastructure projects to ensure that

Government is trying to foist the blame for any Brexit chaos in the adult social care sector off on local authorities and directors of adult social care facilities. This from the letter sent to them on 21 December last year... (Full letter at link below.)

I'm increasingly of the view that remainers are delusional. It's not the EU they value. They evidence shows they don't even care. What they want is to hang on to their systemic entitlements and privileges, refusing to admit the status quo is living on borrowed time.

You have to ask where was this rapant europhillia before the referendum? Why were turnouts 35% in euro elections? Why did they mainly return Ukip MEPs? Simple. The remain movement is zip to do with EU membership. Its just a tantrum from a middle class having their toys taken away
What really bothers them is that they are losing control over the narrative. They hate that Brexit has empowered ordinary people and they're worried that their last instruments of control are slipping from their grasp - hence the legal jihad against Brexit and the censorship.

So. This happened today. My lovely gorgeous son went to get medication he needed today from the pharmacist. It’s a relatively new regime so he’s been talking to the doctor about dosages etc. The pharmacist told him they were running low on most things because of #Brexit, and 1/

First an overview of the study itself:
Rich qualitative data (online survey & focus groups) gathered across the Central Border Region. Detailed examples & viewpoints heard from people on both sides of #border.

Respondents to the survey came from across the 8 local authority areas of the Central Border Region, moreorless equally from both sides of the border. 50/50 male/female. 80% 31-65 yrs.
There were far fewer Leave-voting respondents so they got extra attention in our analysis.

I have changed my mind on #Brexit and now accept it is the best thing that is happening to my country in my life time for the following reasons. Thread
I have come to realise that the EU will be hit worse by UK leaving single market as 8% of eurozone exports go to the UK but 44% of UK exports go to the EU clearly tge eu will be worse hit by a trade war
We will walk out not merely on the single market but every single trade treaty we now have with the entire world by ensuring all our exporters face worse trade terms this will toughen up lazy UK businesses and see unpatriotic ones go to the wall

1) Thread - All Brexits are bad and what we voted for
It's often said by brexiters that "it's not all about economics"
However, the *actual* Leave campaign was almost wholly about economic arguments

With the leak of this 2-8% report those arguments are now trashed
2) We seem to have forgotten this however economics played a huge part in the Vote Leave campaign, making up over 2/3rds of the primary arguements. The clear message was we would at the least be no worse off and at best much better off. 4 of the 6 below state this clearly
3) & the fact is voters believed we would be no worse off. People prioritized immigration certainly, but against a backdrop of there being no consequences from Brexit - few are prepared to actually pay for ending FoM
