Before we all jump all over Trump for this ignorant tweet, you have to remember — he is one of the very dumbest people in America.
I’m kind of not kidding with this. He’s extraordinarily dumb. He just also happens to be the President. (It’s happened before!) So when he says something dumb I don’t necessarily think we should all freak out. We should first remember, “Oh right — he’s improbably stupid.”
That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue to comment on his spectacular ignorance. Of course we should. I’m just saying we shouldn’t lose our minds and freak out — the stupidity should be expected. Is all I’m saying.
The benefits of this approach might be minimal, but I think they do exist. It's basically: let's not waste our time marveling at the garbage bag full of rocks he has instead of a head and a brain. Let's blandly correct his mistakes and conserve our energy for the bigger fight.
