Last night’s events in southern Syria: The Syrians claimed that Israel struck Iranians in Southern Syria.
They also claimed that they shot an Israeli aircraft down and intercepted all the arms launched against them.
And complained of the strike at the UN.

No Israeli confirmation for a strike, aircraft downing was denied. Parts of a Syrian SAM fell in the Israeli Golan.
*What actually happened?*
1. Social media research does not confirm there was a strike…

All photography is of SAM launches, no imagery of impacts in the air on either aircraft or munitions. No documented impacts on Syrian ground targets.

2. The Syrians brag that they intercepted all munitions (that were probably never launched…) their announcements’ credibility is at its usual low.
3. The Syrians again go berserk with a SAM launch fit, blessedly, no Russian or civilian aircraft was hit this time.

At 5pm yesterday, before the “strike”, I said in 103FM radio that the Iranians decreased their military establishment activity in Syria, due both to their vulnerability and Russia’s demands not to undermine Syria’s stabilization efforts.

Yet it is important to remember that Iran has never forsaken its Middle East hegemonic aspirations, and moved to establish their advanced military infrastructure against Israel in Lebanon and Iraq.
