Honest analysis of Theresa May's Brexit deal vs no deal scenario, and vs staying in the EU (corrects numerous flaws and omissions in the "official" Government version, which stacked the odds to favour TM's deal). PDF version available from link below...

NOTES:
1. Some wording may seem provocative, but I deliberately aped the text of the original Government comparison (I did say it was slanted!)
2. Government version uses tick marks for both positive and negative things. Very confusing! I added a third "not applicable" state.
Below, you can see the original Government effort. As you'll notice, there were a lot of tick marks against things that are only covered by the Political Declaration (and therefore merely aspirational) or that are only true during the transition period. My version corrects this.
(As I say, the graphic in the previous tweet is the original Government one! I did not edit it in any way. All inaccuracies, obfuscations, omissions and lies in it are theirs, not mine.)

It directs people to a nice website with warm and fuzzy graphics...

And as soon as you go deeper, you're thrown into the opaque preparedness notices.

A few thoughts on alternatives to Brexit...
- Bring in proportional representation
- Cancel HS2 and spend the tens of £billions on improving *regional* rail and other transport links
- Turn the HOL into an entirely elected second chamber (its oversight function is useful)
- Recognise the merit of a booming economy in London and the SE. Celebrate it and nurture it. Then milk the cash cow and spread that delicious cream across the whole of the UK.
- Foster an entrepreneurial mentality that rewards a "British Dream" (parallels to the American Dream)
- End the culture of secrecy in Government, except in cases of genuine national security. Transparency and accountability at every level. Shine a bright light into the darkest corners.
- Set up a "regional sifting committee" to vet all large infrastructure projects to ensure that

Government is trying to foist the blame for any Brexit chaos in the adult social care sector off on local authorities and directors of adult social care facilities. This from the letter sent to them on 21 December last year... (Full letter at link below.)

They can ignore that information of course but the information must be clearly available to all otherwise democracy fails

As talks get under way in Brussels today, the EU can:

a) attack - eviscerate Chequers for cherry picking

b) parry - play for time, probe UK real red lines

c) focus on what is deliverable to conclude Withdrawal Agreement in Autumn /2

It is the last of these where smart money lies. Chequers is dying anyway and is a 'future relationship issue'.

The focus is delivering a divorce treaty by 29.03.19 and for this most of work is done.
