George H.W. Bush was the last Republican President the United States of America will ever have.

Keep reading to see what I mean.
In 1989, I was a 10-year old girl in the audience at George H.W. Bush's inauguration ceremonies.

I've never aligned with the modern Republican party, but George H.W. Bush's message in this speech was one of the most formative messages in my childhood.

For first time in my life, as one of those points of light, George Bush made me understand that *even across party lines,* our enduring goal as Americans should be that we aim to be part of something more...

something beyond our ego, something greater than ourselves.
Something beyond partisanship.

Something that aims to synergistically enhance the brightness of our humanity, and works to starve those whose goals are achieved by casting shade on others.
While it may seem like the bulk of my actions in the political realm are intended to undermine the integrity of the Republican party, that is in no way my intent:

Those I've worked against were those who were already working to undermine the Republican party from the inside.
What I'm doing now simply is heeding the call of President Bush, both to ensure the foundation of our democracy is led of those who represent the best, the brightest, the morally sound, and the the most ethical among our citizenry, even those I disagree with on policy issues :)
And once restored, I hope to help facilitate a shift that will drive our national focus towards the goal of making our nation one built on a sense of community and contribution, where "government" is no longer viewed as monolithic and obstructive in nature, but
where government can be redefined as fellow citizens working with and serving each other.

Where government comes to be viewed as the most responsive of the service industry.

And where governance rests as much in the hands of every citizen as in the hands of elected officials.
So, again, I'm going to go with this statement, no disrespect intended to those mourning:

George H.W. Bush was the last Republican President the United States of America will ever have.
Because after Bill Clinton was elected, everything went to shit.

Not because of Clinton, but because of those who stepped into the void of leadership in his wake.

Those who were willing to undermine any part of our democracy they needed to in order to consolidate power.
Yeah, I'm looking squarely at Gingrich and Hastert, the overgrown two-year old troll and Jabba the Hut (albeit one who would have preferred a young Anakin or Luke to Leia ). You gave us Rove, Trump, and Putin.

You dishonored those in your party who came before you.
And once we rid ourselves of those festering abcesses and cleaned out the secondary infections they've caused, I fear think there's going to be much of a Republican party left to work with OR against.
So, that took a different turn that I intended (I blame cold medicine), but please, return to that message above, the one about the 'kinder and gentler nation,' and reflect on it for a while.
Because once we cast out these demons, we need the real patriots to come out of hiding and work together, parties aside.

And I look forward to continuing to working alongside (and sometimes against) each and every one of those who do.

To design a better vision of OUR America.
To build a more prosperous future for all Americans...

And to restore our position as the bacon [sic] of freedom for people all around the world.

😜 ( cold medicine ;) )
And .... you know it....

There's some totally rad 80s Up With People, Willard Scott, and of course, Lee Greenwood to groove to, if you want to fully appreciate the impact of the evening 😉

enjoy.
