/ Seems a good time to review this timeline because it sure seems like a lot of revisionist history.

So on May 9th Comey was fired.

/ Then on May 11 McCabe testifies as acting FBI Director. A few interesting points from his testimony.

/ Warner asked McCabe if the WH ever attempted to obstruct If would McCabe notify Senate investigators. He said yes. So first question, did McCabe ever notify Senate investigators. I’m guessing if he did we would know it happened.
/ interestingly, as McCabe is sitting there testifying, Rosenstein calls Warner and Burr into a SCIF. Given what we now know I would guess Rosenstein was alerting them of his concerns. Was McCabe lying in his testimony to hide opening an obstruction investigation?
/ McCabe specifically says the WH has in no way attempted to obstruct the Russia investigation. Keep in mind this is AFTER Comey’s firing. He doesn’t view that act as obstruction on May 11. So as of this day either McCabe was lying under oath or there was no obstruction.
/ Then on May 16, FIVE DAYS LATER, this now infamous meeting occurs where McCabe wants to wire up Rosenstein. He’s now certain Trump is obstructing and ready to aggressively investigate POTUS. Obvious question, what did the WH do in those 5 days?

/ McCabe was drunk with power and believed it his job to “check” POTUS. Of course Rosenstein realized McCabe’s suggestion that Rosenstein attempt to entrap POTUS was completely outrageous. Rod leaves this meeting and heads to the Oval Office.

/ Next day, May 17, Mueller is appointed. So again given this timeline, from Rosenstein’s perspective, what motivated him to suddenly feel the need for a SC?

/ There are two possible catalysts. One is the Comey memos. The reports on May 16 said they outlined Trump’s attempt to obstruct. Except we now know that was hype and again McCabe said on May 11, AFTER COMEY WAS FIRED, that the WH had never obstructed.

/ The timeline and events seem to contradict the revisionist history being attempted now. When viewed against what we now know, the idea that the WH, between May 11 and May 16, attempted such an overt obstruction that required a SC but we never heard of it seems very unlikely.
/ What’s left? McCabe was out of control and with Comey out of the way this became obvious and dangerous to ignore. We were literally on the verge of a constitutional crisis. Rosenstein served Trump and the Constitution well. Realizing the crisis at hand he appointed Mueller.
/ They can spin it as they wish but it’s all right there... /end
