T: best thing i can point you to is an ebook i wrote that's a biographical account of my history with meditation and monasticism

T: well, for starters i'm an autodidact / jack-of-all-trades.
T: i hear you. the good news is that we have technical definitions for these things.
X: ok, sure. my boss holds me to deadlines, i hold my toddler to not eating too many holiday cookies...
T: exactly.
X: ok, so what's wisdom?
T: seeing from no perspective at all. dropping perspectives, letting go of them, cutting through them, transcendence.
T: the trick is to set them up so that they are mutually supportive, so that the more wise and loving you are, the more powerful you are - the more powerful you become, the more wise and loving you become.
T: this is what a monastery is for, to do this for one individual, for groups, and also for cultures overall. you need to integrate W, L, + P at all levels.
T: that's ok! you don't need to. you can practice wisdom through meditation, love through service, and power through skills. notice when they're integrated and when they're not. iterate.
