Brief thread on recent #Frexit Twitter traffic in the light of recent events in Paris. Spoiler alert - there's nothing about bots in this one.

We downloaded tweets containing #Frexit and/or "Frexit", resulting in 38326 tweets from 19998 accounts in the last 10 days. The French volume is fairly steady, but the English volume spiked over the weekend of 12/8 - 12/9. 
Retweet network for #Frexit/Frexit. The accounts tweeting in French are densely clustered, indicating a high degree of interaction/ongoing discussion. Several English-language accounts achieved high retweet volume, but little interaction with the existing French accounts.
Finally, here are the 20 most retweeted English-language accounts with recent #Frexit/Frexit tweets. They hail from both fringes of the political spectrum - we see right-wingers such as @MikeTokes alongside left-wing pro-Assad accounts such as @Ian56789 and @vanessabeeley.
Conclusion: secessionist/nationalist individuals in other countries seem to have seized on the #GiletsJaunes protests to promote the view that France should leave the EU.
