I wonder if people realise that a Brexit with a transition deal is just a delayed version of a catastrophic no-deal Brexit, but with the cliff edge shoved into the future?

After all, if we fail to negotiate a future EU trade agreement during transition, over the cliff we go.
As such, it delays but does not remove the "crunch point" for companies: absent a comprehensive deal that replicates our current trading situation, firms are going to keep heading for the door. They just have that much longer to get out...
Another way of thinking about transition is to imagine you're jumping out of a plane without a parachute, but with a rope tied around your ankle. Two years later, the rope will be cut. Only two choices: fashion a substitute parachute or end up as a strawberry splat on the ground.
