Twitter is awful today so I’m going to tell you about a small miracle that happened to me and the wife one Christmas. (1
My brother bought me an awesome and expensive leather motorcycle jacket and I loved that thing. Loved.

One of my wife’s cousins saw it and loved it and wanted one for Christmas. The father approached me and wanted to buy it because buying one new was too expensive. (2
Did I mention I loved that jacket? Anyway, I was taken aback because they had just lost their other son to a suicide.

I told him to let me think about it. (3
I fought in my mind for days because I couldn’t tell them no, that’s just not me.

I wanted to give it to them but at the time we were broke ourselves.

We thought about it and offered it to them for a very small price, I was hoping they’d say no. (4
They loved the deal and took it. I was heartbroken.

Now I had some money and we felt so guilty for even taking it.

We needed it but didn’t want it. (5
We knew a couple that was even worse off than us so we gave them the money so they could by Christmas gifts.

It made this couple so happy they cried. Worth it. (6
Here’s the miraculous part. That same week we got a check in the mail for the exact same amount that we just gave away.

It was a company that said we had paid that much over on a bill. We didn’t but you can’t argue with these companies, the wife tried. (7
I have to admit when I saw her cousin wearing it on Christmas it warmed my heart. I was still a little sad but it was worth it.

Merry Christmas, brothers. End
