They're coming for Tunisia with the same broken offer: Give up your liberties in return for economic stability. The thing is, after that, they don't even guarantee economic stability - only economic stagnation and servitude as they try to extend an already broken rentier model.
We spoke repeatedly about the broken economic model in which Arab countries are stuck on the @ArabTyrantMan'ual podcast. The counter revolution is jumping in with offers of cash to extend an already doomed economic model. Links follow.

Beautiful people, this is my first truly free week in while. I'm hoping to recover and recharge. I'm going to go offline for a few days and will temporarily delete the Twitter app from my phone.
I'll try as much as possible to not know what's going on in the world. I hope nobody kills or disappears any of my friends (and nobody tries to kill me) in the meanwhile.

Wow. When @Netflix censors material on behalf of Mohammad bin Salman.
Many of us Arabs were very excited when Netflix launched its MENA division, because we thought this is a way in which we can bypass censorship. I guess there's the end of that.
Money always comes ahead of principles. Corporatism is a pillar of the structure of power that keeps us pinned down.

In 2018 I accepted that sometimes you don’t achieve your dreams and that’s ok, sometimes a path will lead you to a new dream that’s better for you instead.

STORYTIME: I wanted to work in animation since high school and devoted all my energy into it.
But in the past two+ years I endlessly applied to positions, kept reworking my portfolio and got hundreds of rejections and I started to doubt myself. I became frustrated; I had friends in the industry say that it’s only a matter of time I’ll find something..
recruiters tell me that my work is great and they’ll keep me in mind, but never following up. I was doing everything I possibly could but it wasn’t getting me anywhere. I even moved to the US to work at a job I hated, hoping an American visa might help me a bit (it didn’t)

1)One of my friends from church recently asked me why I call myself a Libertarian?

He said "you voted for Trump and you sound like a conservative to me?"

By the end of the conversation he was saying "I think I am a Libertarian too"

A victimhood, woe is me mindset is extremely destructive to the can do spirit that you possess. The fact of the matter is that nobody is born with a victimhood mindset. We are born with a mentality of success and obsession with it. Don’t believe me? Consider this.
When you put a baby in a play pen or some kind of enclosure, the baby will naturally explore ways to get out. Let’s say toddlers specifically. Toddlers will stack toys, climb, and push their way around obstacles that impede their freedom. This is instinctual.

All right, an expanded discussion of each slide in this talk starts now! Many people assume Black Panther has something to do with the Black Panther party. Not surprising: both hit the big time in 1966! The official history is that the character came first... or did he?
The year before, Stokely Carmichael of the SNCC was the first to use a black panther logo in political organizing; it's where the later Black Panthers got the idea. As Carmichael fought voter suppression in Alabama, the NY Times reported on the logo in December 1965.
