Hello 2019! What an exciting year for #cleanenergy its going to be☀️💨. Here's five things I'm looking forward to...
1. Two elections (Federal & NSW) where renewables and climate are squarely on the agenda. I hope to see some of our NSW & Federal Politicians adopt these Big 5 ideas to end the energy wars bit.ly/2BoV9m9. This would mean actual political leadership finally!
2. Lets make 2019 the year when locked out energy users such as renters (like me), low-income households, people who live in apartments & have shaded roofs can actually start to access solar in a big way, with policies in place to support them. For example bit.ly/2BZwOS
3. Renewable hydrogen is starting to take off 🚀 with support from @ARENA_aus bit.ly/2CMUOdA. This could be huge, supporting other coal countries to go renewable. But we need to make sure its #renewable, not a lifeline for the coal and gas industries.
4. Community energy is starting to go gangbusters with over 105 groups developing exciting projects (like @solarshare_oz's 1MW community solar farm). Together with some serious policy support (NSW, Victoria, the Federal ALP & Greens) community energy is going to be huge in 2019!
5. In 2019, we're going to see more people and organisations get serious about 100% renewables #fairdinkumpower. School kids are demanding it (@StrikeClimate), we have more than 9 plans that show we can do it and companies and communities are getting on with it (@theRE100)!
