Hon. Minister, @AuduOgbeh yesterday appeared on the programme "Good Morning Nigeria" on NTA to talk about some of the achievements in the agricultural sector under President @MBuhari's administration and the outlook for 2019. Here are some highlights of the conversation. #Thread 
1. On local production of fertilizer:
We are blending our own fertilizer especially the NPK. The number of blending plants in Nigeria rose from 12 to 27. We now have more fertilizer than we consume, with a surplus of nearly 400,000 tonnes in the warehouses - @AuduOgbeh

2. Bank of Agriculture/Access to credit:

3. Anchor Borrowers Programme:
The Programme has aggressively reached out to farmers, driving its service right to the farmer’s doorstep and not waiting for farmers to come looking for loan. - @AuduOgbeh

4. Low Interest Rate: The role played by the Central Bank of Nigeria @cenbank
5. Federal Government's efforts to address the problem of rice smuggling.

We have put in a place a policy to supplement credit to rice millers to buy paddy so as to make it easier for them to produce rice and sell at cheaper prices - @AuduOgbeh

7. Improvements recorded in Sorghum, Sesame seeds, Gum Arabic, Yam, Cassava, Hibiscus flower (Zobo) etc and plans to revive Cocoa production to re-launch Nigeria back to the top.
