durrr no we need to get paid for licensing because my $50M bonus matters more than the NPV of the ecosystem
I dunno, maybe one day when pay tv is down to like 60M subs they'll come around to this view. Imagine if the whole industry was on X1 and all content that subscribers were paying for was easily available

Buzzfeed has always intrigued me because they've been ahead of the curve in constantly evolving. Native ads, nailing social until FB cut it off, pivoting to video, ecommerce, etc.. But I've always thought that's a really really hard sustainable advantage.
Looks like they did ~$300M in revs last year, with 1300 employees. That's less than $250K in revenue per employee. It looks to me like YHOO's last year as standalone co they had 8500 employees and did $420K in ex-TAC rev/employee. The NY Times only has 3900 employees.
They clearly have had a hard time forecasting revenue, and meeting estimates, and probably staffed up ahead of themselves. But the other problem is if a really successful (relatively speaking) digital media co is only growing 15% at $300M, scale is really really hard to come by.

It seems charmingly quaint today to see how the future is described, but this is pretty good for a guy who dropped out of school and started in the mail room

Complaints were then made to my MP #VinceCable. He liaised with the #Metpolice & #LBRUT. And then weeks later, the search warrant was completely changed & was passed off as the search warrant executed on the day of the raids.

The Evidence Obtained Outside Cameras will not show any evidence of ‘tempering’ but other than license plates of dozens of diplomatic cars (Many with tinted windows-large trunks) with related time stamp, drivers Info, model/year: Nothing.
#Turkish Intel-Investigative Bodies also have the list of all Diplomatic & Private Saudi & “other significant’ Planes in #Turkey for the period of ‘interest.’ Many of the Target airports have their own security cameras & related evidence.
