Took this from a Leaver. It's an excellent picture of the UK they wish to create.
The advantage of this picture is it takes the northern Ireland problem and multiplies it a 1000 fold.

Now we can have magic borders everywhere and large EU voting areas can stay in the EU... along with our tax.

I wish the country the best of luck without us.
It also nicely illustrates the mindset we're dealing with.

There is literally no level of destruction that the rabid militant end of Leave won't countenance in order to get their benefit free project through.

Destructive. Small minded. Led by those who profit from Brexit.

Lots of suggestions that "the people" wouldn't forgive a second referendum having given their "instruction".

Reminding us all the first referendum was undemocratic

And now to add insult to injury, it's the will of the dead.
If I recall Theresa May didn't want to investigate the rigging of the first referendum because it was advisory.

It was over to Parliament to address the next steps.

Since Parliament has failed to address the next steps is it not fair to hand it back to the people?
The Venice Convention, of which we're a fully paid up member, is very clear what should have happened to the 2016 referendum. It should have been declared null and void.

The Government used a legal loophole to get around this "it was only advisory"

I just thought I'd stand back from things for a moment and look at the complete and utter chaos the Leave Elites have led us to.

They've never had a plan
They've never know how to leave.
First they promised unicorns and rainbows. Neither were available, or achievable but they promised them anyway because.

They didn't have a plan
They didn't know how to leave
Then they spent illegally, gerrymandered the electorate and manipulated social marketing to get over the line with a tiny majority. Telling everyone it was the will of the people when it clearly wasn't because

Amid reports that #UK PM @theresa_may hopes to renegotiate the "backstop" provision on the Northern Ireland border, let's recall that she already made clear what she wants in her letter to #EU leaders before disastrously losing the #Brexit Withdrawal Treaty ratification vote. 1/
"This could be mitigated by changes to the backstop itself," she wrote to @eucopresident & @JunckerEU "Proposals for a way in which the UK could choose to exit the backstop unilaterally were it ever to come into force, or for a hard time limit... 2/
on the duration of the usage of the backstop, have been raised and discussed in Parliament. We have also raised them previously in negotiations." So there are her proposals, i.e. the EU should basically just cave on backstop in face of House of Commons defeat. But but but ... 3/

Let’s take the single biggest U.K. win: an all U.K. customs union in the Irish backstop. The EU didn’t want that...
... in fact, it was reported that the EU feared the UK could use the Northern Ireland Problem to push through all-UK approaches. And... the EU conceded.

Air boxing by top #UK officials is amazing. Who punching at? Unlike in London, #Brexit never been much fight in Brussels, more lament. When some urged penalty in financial settlement, EU ignored & just tabbed up #'s. Citizen rights a 2-way street. Other stuff mainly logistical..
Point again is not to take any side, but merely point out Brussels has had consistent principles, goals & negotiating positions from the start. London still has no consensus on final objective. No one I know in #EU has advocated for "no deal" but some in #UK actually do that...
Have had many many long conversations w/ top London colleagues. Am very conscious of all arguments & concerns on #UK side, incl over Northern Ireland. But even in no deal scenario, #UK will end up facing exact same choice on future relationship w/ EU as now, but w/o transition...

As talks get under way in Brussels today, the EU can:

a) attack - eviscerate Chequers for cherry picking

b) parry - play for time, probe UK real red lines

c) focus on what is deliverable to conclude Withdrawal Agreement in Autumn /2

It is the last of these where smart money lies. Chequers is dying anyway and is a 'future relationship issue'.

The focus is delivering a divorce treaty by 29.03.19 and for this most of work is done.

2/ The first thing to note is that there are referring to a report To an EP committee and not to a report by the EP or any other EU institution:

3/ The second thing they fail to note is that the report is addressing a specific research questions. It is not addressing @TheGFAgreement or obligations relating to this. It is also not addressing security concerns specific to NI.
