SIGNIFICANT: @Keir_Starmer says Labour has voted down deal, had vote of no confidence and now it's time for next phase which includes option of second referendum. Huge applause here at @thefabians. #FEPSFAB19
Now Keir is ruling out many of the other options:
No Deal
Canada
PM's deal
Any deal with hard border with NI
Sir Keir says there are only 2 options left:
1. New deal including customs union, close single market alignment.
OR
2. A second referendum. "I know there is significant support for this among many of our members, unions, Labour MPs... a public vote HAS to be an option for Labour"

BREAKING: @JohnMannMP tells me Corbyn statement is 'too little, too late', that 'there are anti-semites crawling in and out of the Labour Party at random' and Corbyn must take action. There'll be a protest tomorrow in Westminster and statement delivered to leader himself.
Some speculation that a statement organised by Board of Jewish Deputies may have been the final straw which led Corbyn to issue far stronger statement.
NEW: @wesstreeting tells me the party 'isn't looking for words but actions' and it 'speaks volumes that Jeremy Corbyn still hasn't said sorry for his own actions', just sorry for 'the pain' others have caused.

Horowitz isn't really investigating, neither is Huber, both are covering everything up, they are both Deep State, etc.

Nobody's being investigated, even that McCabe grand jury means nothing.

2. The left of the party however, is a shitshow of hipster communists and gobby younglings who know fuck all about nine tenths of anything, pushing a socialist agenda they don't understand much less comprehend the implications of it.
3. Then as I understand it, their fondness for Brexit is based on some half understood notions about competition rules and state aid - but in actuality they couldn't give a toss about Brexit. They're just at war with the FBPE morons since they attack Corbyn. Purely tribal.

We are now going to see a concerted effort to tell MPs the outcome of the meaningful vote is either May's deal or a General Election. Liberal Democrat, Conservative, and Labour MPs will come under immense pressure to prevent a General Election, being told their seats are at risk.
Aside from threatening her own MPs, May will reach out to right wing Labour MPs who they know don't want a Corbyn Labour Government, to offset the loss of DUP votes. I expect at least 20 Labour MPs to defy the party whip and either vote for the deal or vote against no confidence.
In the media, pressure will be built on the premise that No Deal, not a General Election, is the only realistic and inevitable outcome of May losing the meaningful vote. And of course no-one but the DUP & ERG want No Deal. CBI et al already posting op eds to this effect.

Labour is terrified of bringing a vote of no confidence that it knows it will lose because it lacks a plan for what happens next. It's neither in Government nor Opposition.
There is no key Brexit legislation currently before Parliament and we could well leave the EU with no deal before any comes before it.

Labour is chicken, clueless and enabling.
I hate this Government. I hate it for the contempt it has shown for our democratic superstructure: for governance, for the rule of law, and for constitutional norms. But you have to give it this: at least it has a plan. Labour has nothing and is nowhere.

THREAD: I think we need to talk about the lefts stance on Party rebirth, & the holier than thou attitude that #Labour has on #libdems & tuition Fees. Given the rise of the far right & how much we actually agree on we really should be working together, so lets try to clear this up
For many of us @LibDems, we left @UKLabour when they voted & took us into Iraq.
Now the Labour left make the argument that Labour is not the same party that it was with Blair, & because Corbyn voted against Iraq; all must be forgiven. The party should be allowed to start afresh.
Fair enough. But if this was the case, why was Tim Farron nailed to the tuition fees cross by Labour campaigners at the last election? He voted AGAINST Fees in the same way Corbyn voted against Iraq.
