This is a #Saudi columnist in well-known newspaper Okaz. He has 230k followers. He is basically calling for public execution of feminists (“internal devils who incite girls to rebel”) in #Saudi Arabia, in the embassy area. Translation in next tweet.

After Rahaf wrong-footed them, the #Saudi regime has forcefully been portraying feminism as terrorism: existential threat to patriarchal state as well as to patriarchs of the family who all collude in “guardianship” system which I call gender apartheid.

Unprecedented #Saudi crackdown vs feminism has jailed more than a dozen women’s rights activists since May. Several have been tortured. One was waterboarded. That form of torture is usually associated with terrorism. For Saudi regime, feminism is terrorism.

#Saudi feminists have said they are receiving threats and intimidation and some have been forced to shut down Twitter accounts. I texted with one yesterday who told me the #Saudi regime was “terrified of feminists”

My biggest concern is for #Saudi feminists in the kingdom: inside and outside the jails of the #Saudi regime. We must stay vigilant. Those in jail since May have been tortured.

I am not in #Saudi Arabia but because I helped amplify Rahaf’s voice, I have been singled out for orchestrated #Saudi regime troll attacks as well as attacks in state regulated media where I’ve been accused of being “red-haired porn activist” who “masterminded” Rahaf’s escape.

Some have suggested that when columnist says “I am serious that these executions be carried out in embassy areas” he was referring to murder of Jamal Khasgoggi at #Saudi consulate in #Turkey. I initially read it to be a warning against seeking asylum or help from foreign govts.

I know it’s tedious to share so much of the orchestrated #Saudi regime troll attacks vs me but I want you to witness how an authoritarian regime uses social media to target people. It is dangerous. We used social media to help Rahaf. I am not in Saudi but I know they mean me harm

You MUST know nothing is published in a newspaper like Okaz without #Saudi - specifically de facto leader Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman - approval & possibly even dictation. This regime upholds gender apartheid & it’s determined to keep it intact.Feminism is terrorism for them.

The punishment in #Saudi Arabia for “corruption on earth”, which is what this columnist for a major #Saudi state sanctioned newspaper is accusing feminists of being, is death.
